HiQ preferred supplier of consulting services to 3

November 21, 2002

The Nordic IT and management consultant HiQ signs an agreement with the operator 3, former Hi3G. The agreement, which gives HiQ preferred supplier status, covers services like radio network and transmission design, telecoms strategy and specialist technical competence.

"Previously HiQ focused on network design and procurement of network equipment and IT support systems. Now we are concentrating our efforts on roll-out of the 3G networks," says Bo Ringdahl, Account Manager at HiQ Stockholm.

"As a preferred supplier, HiQ is working with 3's roll-out of 3G networks in all areas. This includes a roll-out in Denmark," continues Ringdahl.

3 concentrates on being a multimedia operator. This gives the company a unique opportunity to focus on mobile services. In Sweden 3 is owned by Hutchison Whampoa and Investor.

"3 will be launching content-packed mobiles and services in Sweden in the spring," says Niclas Lilja, CIO at 3. "Cooperation is a key factor in a successful launch." Parallel to the partnership with 3, HiQ is also working with 3GIS, a network operator owned in equal parts by Europolitan/Vodafone, 3 and Orange. 3GIS works with securing cost-efficient network coverage and capacity to the owners.

"Working with 3GIS gives us an overall view of the operator's network solutions, roll-out and operations, which is improving the efficiency of our partnership, says Ringdahl.
