3G UMTS trial in Spain

Samsung Electronics, Vodafone and Nortel Networks has agreed to
carry out a program to realize the first 3G UMTS trial test in Spain.
This confirms that the 3G is becoming more and more close to reality.
Thanks to the cooperation of these three companies, the visitors
to SIMO could have direct experience which UMTS service offers,
such as Videotelephony, WAP, and Video Streaming and Web Browsing
through PC.
The test is made by the SGH-Z100, Samsung's 3G UMTS mobile phone
which shows the most advanced technology, with GPRS Class 10 (4x2),
WAP, MMS and Java. It supports applications which could not be utilized
upto today, such as Videotelephony service through mobile phones.
The Samsung's 3G UMTS mobile phone has a built-in rotating digital
camera and a high-quality TFT color screen that reproduces 260,000
different color shades. It also features 40 polyphonic ring tone.
