NetTest introduces complete testing suite for UMTS networks
November 10, 2003
NetTest, a worldwide provider of testing, monitoring and management solutions
for advanced and converged networks, introduced the industry's first,
comprehensive suite of monitoring and testing products that empower wireless
operators to make better decisions for increasing revenue and user satisfaction
from UMTS networks.
Incorporating significant input from its growing number of wireless networking
customers, NetTest designed the suite - comprised of MasterQuest UMTS,
Compass UMTS and InterQuest Analyzer - so that "greenfield" 3G operators
and GPRS carriers migrating to 3G can confidently build new revenue streams
and ensure a quality user experience. The products allow NetTest customers
to rapidly deploy UMTS networks, launch new services such as voice, video
streaming, MP3 digital audio and Web-browsing, and vastly improve QoS
for end users.
"Network operators need accurate, real-time reporting to make solid business
decisions for maximising revenues from 3G services," said Philip Marshall,
Director, Wireless Mobile Technologies, The Yankee Group. "NetTest is
fulfilling this requirement with a complete suite of products for monitoring
and testing UMTS networks."
NetTest's suite addresses the wireless operator's need for a powerful
and cost-efficient migration path, allowing them to scale current monitoring
and testing from a single location to the entire network, and protecting
their initial investment while allowing for the roll-out of revenue-enhancing
services.
"NetTest is very attentive to our customers' needs, and we strive to
ensure that we introduce new solutions at the right time, which provide
information needed by our customers to make the right business decisions
about their evolving business in a coordinated fashion", says Allan J
Vestergaard, CEO and President, NetTest.
Product Information and Availability
MasterQuest UMTS and Compass UMTS are now available to customers. InterQuest
UMTS will be available in December 2003.
MasterQuest UMTS, an extension of the successful MasterQuest product
line, provides a network-wide view of advanced services performance for
business-level executives.
Compass UMTS provides in-depth analysis for troubleshooting and optimisation,
assisting in rapid service performance. Compass supports IP analysis on
user service carried across UMTS, processing and presenting data with
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for call and network elements (i.e.
per call, per area, by individual nodes). This allows operators to see
end-to-end service performance as tracked by users, so they can make the
right business decisions for optimally operating the network.
InterQuest Analyzer is a one-box solution in the final stages of development.
InterQuest isolates specific parts of the network to capture and analyse
data on the protocol and systems levels, helping to bring a network online
quickly and to synchronise all network elements - activities that are
critical to realising fast ROI from advanced services.
