Mobeon creates 'pocket office' with 3G email on the move
November 19, 2003
Mobeon, the mobile messaging software provider, has launched corporate
email support for 3G phones from NEC and Motorola.
Its technology will provide secure, cost-effective, mobile email for
business user that need to work on the move. With Mobeon software installed,
the 3G devices will now provide access to company emails, calendars and
address books, at a much faster speed than second generation mobile phones.
Mobeon's product uses the existing online browsers already installed
as standard on the phones. This eradicates the need for each device to
be separately configured, thereby making the solution easier and quicker
to roll out.
"For mobile working to be a viable option for businesses, speed and security
are essential, and this is what our solution delivers over 3G," said Robert
Vangstad, vice-president of marketing at Mobeon.
"Our tests show that running our software over 3G networks give corporate
users a real 'pocket office', allowing them to remain truly productive
whilst on the move. They now have the ability to load pages as quickly
as if they were accessing them from the office over a high-speed broadband
connection - these time saving benefits are a real boon for any business,"
Vangstad continued.
Mobeon's mPIM technology, (part of its M2 series), will provide email
support for the following 3G devices:
- NEC e606 - NEC e808 - Motorola A920 (224 words)
