Vodafone Ireland releases price plan

Vodafone Ireland has release details of pricing structures for its 3G services that the company will launch later this week.

The mobile operator will be the first 3G licence holder in Ireland to launch commercial 3G services.

Consumers will be able to get the 3G handsets later this week. Four 3G handsets will be available - the Motorola V980, the Nokia 6630, the Sony Ericsson V800 and the Sharp V902. The company says handset prices will start at E169 for the Motorola, rising to E379 for the Sharp.

Europe's first 2 mega-pixel camera phone, the Sharp V902 at E379 will be available in the new year.

The opertor is offering two voice packages - Super Time 300 at E69 a month and Super Time 500 at E99 a month.

Super Time 300 includes 300 minutes of national voice calls at any time, day or night, to any Irish numbers, 100 Call a Friend for Free minutes to one registered Vodafone Ireland number and free voicemail

Super Time 500 includes 500 minutes of national voice calls at any time, day or night, to any Irish numbers, 200 Call a Friend for Free minutes to one registered Vodafone Ireland number and free voicemail

Video calls for a promotional period will be priced the same as a voice call.

Prices for picture and video messages range from 19 to 69 cent depending on size. Vodafone Ireland is offering access to its Premiership services free until February, after which subscription will cost E9.99 a month. An MTV music subscription service will cost E7.99 a month. Games will be priced at E5 or E7.
