ANADIGICS primary supplier for Sierra Wireless' HSDPA products

November 9, 2005

ANADIGICS announced that the Company is the primary supplier of power amplifiers for Sierra Wireless' new high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) AirCard products. ANADIGICS' High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power (HELP) WCDMA and open-loop polar EDGE power amplifiers enable Sierra Wireless' AirCard 850 and AirCard 860 GSM/GPRS, EDGE, and WCDMA data cards.

"Our latest HSDPA AirCard products provide users with access to some of the most advanced wireless networks currently available, and offer global roaming on GSM and EDGE networks," said Jim Kirkpatrick, Chief Technical Officer for Sierra Wireless. "The high performance of ANADIGICS' unique HELP WCDMA power amplifiers is a key contribution to our efforts to ensure that AirCard products deliver superior network connectivity and the fast data transmission speeds HSDPA promises."

"ANADIGICS is proud to be a part of Sierra Wireless' groundbreaking 3G platform," said Dr. Bami Bastani, President & CEO of ANADIGICS. "Multi- standard mobile platforms that provide GSM/GPRS, EDGE, and WCDMA functionality represent a growing segment of the wireless market. We are well positioned to capture 3G market share by leveraging our advanced technology to provide customers with higher performing EDGE and WCDMA power amplifiers."

Sierra Wireless' AirCard 850 wireless network card supports the 2100 MHz WCDMA frequency band used in Europe and the AirCard 860 card is designed for the 850 MHz and 1900 MHz WCDMA frequency bands used in North America. The new AirCard WCDMA products offer HSDPA support, which allows for WCDMA transmission speeds three times greater than current UMTS rates. Both new AirCard products support quad-band GSM/GPRS applications, as well as the emerging EDGE standard.
