November 16, 2005
Powerwave Technologies, a global supplier of wireless infrastructure solutions, announced it will showcase its 3G product line at 3G World Congress.
During the 3G Congress in Hong Kong, Ronald J. Buschur, Powerwave's CEO, will speak on "Cost-Effective Strategies and Solutions to Increase the Coverage and Capacity of 3G and Broadband Wireless Networks" as part of the Keynote Plenary Session on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 11:30 am.
Powerwave will also showcase its next-generation 3G wireless communications solutions including Base Station Antennas; Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) Modules; Clean Site Antennas; Tower Mounted Amplifiers (TMAs); Multi Carrier Power Amplifiers (MCPAs); Indoor and Outdoor Distributed Antenna Systems; Repeaters; and, NetWay Manager Software.
According to a January 2005 statement by the UMTS Forum, global subscriptions to 3G/UMTS networks at the beginning of 2005 had already reached 16 million on more than 60 networks - a dramatic increase since the 10 million-customer milestone was passed in September 2004. In 2003, the group predicted that the Asia Pacific region will lead the world in generating revenues from 3G wireless data services, with the region as a whole expected to exceed 700 million mobile data subscribers in 2010, with approximately half of these subscribers (320 million) coming from China.
