Cingular SYNC handset is music to your ears

November 2, 2006

Samsung and Cingular Wireless announced the launch of the Cingular SYNC from Samsung, Samsung's newest HSDPA phone with advanced music and multimedia capabilities.

Exclusive to Cingular, the SYNC is a feature-rich, slim, flip phone that harnesses the broadband-like data speeds of Cingular's HSDPA network, providing instant access to the new Cingular Music service, as well as Cingular Video. With features such as external touch sensitive multimedia keys, MP3 player, microSD memory card slot and Bluetooth 2.0 with stereo headset support, the Cingular SYNC from Samsung is an ideal device for entertainment and media.

The Cingular SYNC from Samsung features a new, one-touch Cingular Music key, identified by a music icon. With one simple click, users are immediately connected to Cingular Music -- a one-stop shop for everything music on the handset. This new service offers the widest selection of mobile music content in the industry today, including integration with leading subscription music stores.

"The Cingular SYNC from Samsung is our newest music device optimized for Cingular's high-speed, HSDPA network," said Dale Sohn, president, Samsung. "With dedicated music features and true Plug and Play synchronization, users have instant access to their music library in a handset that rivals a standalone MP3 player."

"We are excited to team with Samsung to deliver yet another exclusive device to our growing portfolio of 3G handsets," said David Christopher, vice president of product management, Cingular Wireless. "Our customers have come to expect us to deliver stylish, feature-rich handsets that allow them to stay mobile and connected to the things they enjoy. With the SYNC, our newest Cingular Music phone, they have their favorite music content right at their fingertips."

Available in a metallic grey finish with black accents, the Cingular SYNC from Samsung features a 2 megapixel camera with video capture, 3D gaming, speakerphone and advanced messaging capabilities. As a quad-band GSM phone (850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 1900 MHz), the SYNC will work around the world, allowing users to stay connected to friends and family through a number of mediums -- voice, data and messaging. This world-class device also delivers superior reception and integrates Bluetooth capabilities.
