Sky Mobile TV free for the first month for 3UK customers

November 2, 2006

BSkyB and 3UK announced an agreement that will make Sky Mobile TV available to a bigger audience than ever before. 3's customers will be able to receive up to 27 Sky Mobile TV channels including live news, sport, music, entertainment and documentaries from some of television's biggest brands.

Sky Mobile TV includes a mix of dedicated 'made for mobile' channels and others that are streamed 'as live'. Users can keep up with live breaking news and sports reports from Sky News and Sky Sports News, or enjoy entertainment, music and documentaries while they're on the move.

All customers on 3 will be able to choose from three themed packs of Sky Mobile TV channels, dedicated to News & Sport, Entertainment and Music programmes. Each pack is charged at £5.00 per month for unlimited access. The service will be free for all customers who sign up for the package for the first month.

Stephen Nuttall, BSkyB's Director of Business Development, said: "We're delighted to be working with 3 to give millions more people the chance to enjoy TV on the move. The success of Sky Mobile TV has shown there's a real appetite for innovative services that allow customers to choose when and where they watch."

Graeme Oxby, Marketing Director of 3 UK, said: "We are the leader in mobile TV with the widest range of channels available on our network. We also have the largest number of 3G customers with the capability to watch TV on their mobiles. We see the addition of Sky as a natural step and a great fit to enhance our already successful TV portfolio."
