sparq Taiwan selects Dilithium 3G multimedia gateway

November 29, 2006

Dilithium Networks announced that sparq, (a.k.a. New Century InfoComm Tech), a telecommunications provider in Taiwan, has selected the Dilithium DTG 2000 multimedia gateway for launch of its commercial IP Video to 3G Video telephony services.

DTG 2000 incorporates Dilithium Networks' Unicoding technology which enables fast, efficient transcoding while significantly reducing the time delay and compute resources required to transcode between any two media standards. Additional key benefits include Video Refresh for eliminating video corruption in messaging and streaming platforms, and AnswerFast technologies that reduce call setup times to less than 1 second. Delay is an important perceptible element of voice/video quality and low delays are essential for a pleasant customer experience.

"We are excited to be selected by sparq." stated Dennis Zhang, VP North Asia, Dilithium Networks. "The DTG 2000 will enable sparq to build NGN (next-generation network) converged voice-video networks and create revenue-generating services, including 3G to fixed-network conversational video services, video portal, video mail, and video multi-conferencing applications."

"We are very pleased to work as system integration partner of Dilithium for supplying sparq with the integrated solution based the most advanced multimedia transcoding technology and DTG2000 gateway", commented David Lin, Vice President of HiTron Technologies, "We look forward to the growth of service and revenue in carriers such as sparq in the deployment of fixed to 3G mobile video services".
