CDMA Development Group Releases Facts On Real-World CDMA2000 3G
Performance
October 15, 2002
Two years ago this month, CDMA2000 became the world's first commercially
deployed IMT-2000 3G wireless technology.
Today, there are 22 CDMA2000 networks throughout Asia, the Americas
and Europe and 19 more are scheduled to deploy in the coming months.
These commercial rollouts are providing global operators significant
advantages such as 3G data applications at speeds of up to 2.4Mbps.
Today, the CDMA Development Group (CDG) released real-world facts,
as reported by operators, on CDMA2000 3G experiences including data
speeds, applications and average revenue per user (ARPU).
The CDG is a nonprofit trade association formed to foster the worldwide
development, implementation and use of cdmaOne and CDMA2000. The
110 member companies of the CDG include many of the world's largest
wireless operators and equipment manufacturers. The primary activities
of the CDG include development of CDMA features and services, public
relations, education and seminars, regulatory affairs and international
support.
