Xfera to launch 3G in 2004
October 22, 2002
Spanish operator Xfera plans to rollout its third generation wireless
service gradually in 2004 according to reports. The operator's board
of directors will meet Thursday to discuss the company's new business
plan, which includes a EURO 250 million investment in 2003.
Xfera was awarded a 3G license in March 2000 costing $111 million.
The license includes 2X15MHz plus 5MHz unpaired spectrum.
Last October, Xfera halted a EURO 7.8 billion investment in its
business project because of uncertainty over the future of 3G.
