KPN Mobile sets up 3G exhibition

Dutch mobile operator KPN Mobile has launched the 3G Experience
UMTS Services and Technology Exhibition at its headquarters situated
in The Hague, Netherlands. The 3G promotion exhibition is a joint
venture between KPN Mobile and NTT DoCoMo of Japan.
Selected visitors are able to experience fully functional 3G wireless
services of NTT DoCoMo just like those in Japan. KPN Mobile has
establish a connection to NTT DoCoMo's network in Japan, making
wireless access to DoCoMo's full range of 3G services possible.
The show will let visitors see what 3G have to offer. Services
in the exhibition include high speed data transfer, fast access
to the internet as well as video telephony. There are also i-mode
services in the show including with i-appli (Java services) and
i-motion (video clip distribution). Users are able to browse the
internet at the same time as having a telephone conversation.
NTT DoCoMo launched 3G wireless services, named FOMA, last October
in Japan but subscriptions has been below expectations.
