Qualcomm showcases 3G CDMA mobile multimedia solutions
October 25, 2004
Qualcomm announced it will demonstrate a host of innovative 3G CDMA wireless products and solutions for consumers and the enterprise at CTIA Wireless I.T. & Entertainment 2004, Oct. 25-27 in booth 638 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Qualcomm's 3G CDMA-based technology solutions enable wireless operators and device manufacturers to meet the increasing demand for advanced multimedia applications and services, including camera phones, MP3 players and video camcorders capabilities on phones, position location and mobile gaming.
Qualcomm will host the second annual 3G cdmA-List Awards today. This invitation-only event will honor those companies implementing real-world enterprise solutions based on 3G CDMA technology. This year, the program added a new award category to recognize a groundbreaking implementation of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, which was launched in October 2003 and is now available in 14 major metropolitan areas in the U.S.
"With multimedia driving the development of advanced wireless capabilities and more than 100 operators in 47 countries offering 3G wireless services, consumers and businesses now have a wide variety of advanced wireless services available to them at appealing price points," said Jeffrey K. Belk, senior vice president of marketing for Qualcomm. "The growth of 3G has helped fuel success for all members of the wireless value chain -- operators, manufacturers, developers, content providers and end users."
