Huawei launches full-performance HSDPA solution

October 27, 2005

Huawei Technologies announced the global launch of its full-performance HSDPA solution.

Based on its self-designed ASIC chip, Huawei provides a full-performance HSDPA solution, the data rates can peak 14.4 Mbps downstream. The solution includes:

1. A complete portfolio of NodeBs, which are 100% ready for full-performance HSDPA;

2. Large capacity RNC, SGSN and GGSN, to meet the HSDPA high throughput requirement;

3. HSDPA data card.

Together with HSDPA solution, Huawei RNC and NodeB family can also support IP transmission on Iub interface, which can meet the high transmission bandwidth requirement when HSDPA is introduced.

Earlier this year, Huawei has successfully conducted the HSDPA demo with Huawei HSDPA data card over Telfort pre-commercial UMTS network in the Netherlands on 30 June 2005. Later this year, there are more UMTS commercial networks that will be equipped with HSDPA solutions.
