Sunday and Distacom to Join Up in HKdate: September 18, 2001 Hong Kong mobile operator Sunday Communications will team up with a U.S. partner to bid for a third generation mobile license in Hong Kong, Apple Daily reports, quoting unnamed source. The report said Distacom Group, Sunday's operating partner, brought in a U.S. partner to lower costs and minimize risk. Sunday also expects to become a mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO, the report said. As an MVNO, it would be able to provide 3G services by leasing capacity from network operators, but wouldn't hold a network license of its own.
