All HK's 3G Provisional Successful Bidders Confirmeddate: September 25, 2001 Hong Kong's Telecommunications Authority (TA) said on Tuesday is pleased to announce that each of the Provisional Successful Bidders has confirmed to the TA that the declaration made in its Connected Bidder Statutory Declaration comprised in its Application remains true and accurate in all respects. Accordingly, the Second Phase of the Auction will not be required as there is no Provisional Successful Bidder who is a Connected Bidder in relation to any other Provisional Successful Bidder. The TA is therefore delighted to announce that the Third Phase of the Auction will take place on Wednesday, 26 September 2001. Last week, there were only four incumbents submitting applications going for four 3G licenses on offer, therefore there was little point in continuing with the contest. The provisional license winners are: H3G HK, CSL, SmarTone and Sunday.. The reserve price for each license was five per cent of 3G network turnover over the 15 year license period. A minimum of HK$50m (EUR6.9m) must be paid for each license annually for the first five years.
