Orange on Course for 3G Rollout in Swedendate: September 29, 2001 Orange Sverige has said it is on course for the rollout of its 3G network, despite rumours of financial difficulties at one of its partners. The rumours surround Bredbandsbolaget, which has large capital needs because of investment in its broadband network in Sweden, making it difficult for the company to find finance to fulfil its part of the 3G rollout costs. FT's Orange is now said to be in talks to buy out the company's investment. Within 5 years of launch 55% of the Swedish consumers will subscribe to 3G mobile services, increasing to over 80% in the longer term. The high acceptance of 3G mobile services, such as mobile Internet access, is underpinned by the willingness to spend substantial additional amounts for these services. These facts were found out in a survey commissioned by Orange Sverige AB and carried out by Temo, a well known Swedish market survey organisation. In December 00, Sweden's Post and Telecom Agency has decided to offer Orange Sverige a license for 3G mobile telephony. Orange Sverige.
