Manx Telecom Hosts 3G Training Visit
September 9, 2002
Twenty delegates from telecommunications companies all over the
world visited Manx Telecom for two days last week as part of a diploma
course run by TM Training Solutions at Bailbrook College in the
UK.
The delegates saw technical and commercial presentations and a
demonstration of 3G. They also toured Dalton Street Exchange and
looked at the network in operation around the Island.
Manx Telecom`s Director of Customer Services Mike Cook said: `They
have already looked at similar advanced telecommunications systems
with BT in the UK, but coming to the Isle of Man is particularly
beneficial for them as Manx Telecom is very similar in size to their
own operations.
`From Manx Telecom`s point of view, it`s great to be involved in
this initiative and it reminds us of how advanced we are in our
telecommunications here.
