3Fri – the new pricing options in Sweden

September 10, 2003

On Monday, 15 September, 3 is to launch two new pricing options named 3Fri (3Free) in Sweden. 3Fri’s selling point is its simplicity, with 60 or 300 free minutes and the same rates to all mobile and fixed networks in Sweden 24 hours a day.

3 offers more than video communication. Thanks to 3G’s unparalleled capacity, 3 also have a low charge for voice communications. The low charges for voice calls get lower the more calls the user makes. Now, MoVi – calls (video calls) cost the same as voice calls with other operators. We are also launching 3Fri Kväll & Helg (3Free Evening & Weekend).

“3 is simplifying the pricing on the market by offering 3Fri, which includes free minutes to call anyone in Sweden anytime of the day. It is the high capacity on the 3G networks that enables our customers to enjoy mobile video services but also low prices on voice communications, says Chris Bannister, CEO of 3 in Sweden. “Video calls costs less than what many people pay for voice communication today, which will make the video call a natural choice for people who wants to share emotions and expressions in the mobile.”

3Fri 60 includes 60 minutes of calls in Sweden to all mobile operators and the fixed network. 24 hours a day. Above the 60-minute limit, calls cost SEK 2 per minute, while above 150 minutes calls cost SEK 1.50 per minute. 3Fri 60 costs SEK 149 per month.

3Fri 300 includes 300 minutes of calls in Sweden to all mobile operators and the fixed network. 24 hours a day. The package also includes 50 MB of data transmission. Above the 300- minute limit, calls costs SEK 1.30 kr per minute, while above 600 minutes, calls cost SEK 0.90 per minute. 3Fri 300 costs SEK 449 per month.

3 is also launching the 3Fri Kväll & Helg (3Free Evenings & Weekends) for 50 SEK extra per month, which includes 1,000 minutes of voice calls in Sweden to the fixed network and on the 3 network during evenings and weekends.

MoVi (video calls) cost SEK 2.50/min., SMS SEK 1.00 each, MMS SEK 3.80 each and e-mails SEK 1.00 each.
