Motorola purchase Aeroflex HSDPA conformance test system
September 6, 2005
Aeroflex has announced that it won a significant order for its HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) conformance test system for Motorola's ADR Testing Service. Based in Flensburg, Germany, ADR Testing Service is an independent 2G/3G, Bluetooth and EMC certification laboratory.
Aeroflex's 6401 AIME/CT with ISHO (inter-system handover) and HSDPA conformance test cases will provide the backbone of a comprehensive HSDPA testing capability.
Motorola's ADR Testing Service's purchase of the Aeroflex HSDPA conformance test system follows the recent announcement by Aeroflex that it has introduced the first working HSDPA conformance test case. The test case submission to the 3GPP RAN5 Working Group will provide the benchmark for the HSDPA test case approval and verification process. The Aeroflex HSDPA conformance test system has already been installed and commissioned at Motorola's ADR Testing Service.
Commenting on the purchase of Aeroflex's HSDPA conformance test system, Lars Nielsen, Managing Director of Motorola's ADR Testing Service said, "Our history is peppered with industry firsts in terms of mobile handset conformance testing. As the mobile industry readies itself for the introduction of commercial HSDPA services, we need to maintain this momentum. Our aim is to be at the forefront of mobile handset test and the purchase from Aeroflex of one of the first HSDPA conformance test systems demonstrates our commitment to lead from the front with regard to HSDPA test."
