Amp'd Mobile strengthens 3G gaming with WiderThan

September 14, 2006

Amp'd Mobile announced its selection of two WiderThan published mobile games, "Cubetrix" and "Zoo Keeper" for sale to Amp'd Mobile subscribers.

"We continue to hear a growing demand for mobile games from our customers, and based on WiderThan's mobile entertainment experience and growing reputation in the mobile games space, we know they are an ideal partner to help us strengthen our catalog," said Jeremy Rosanthal, Executive Producer, Games Programming at Amp'd Mobile. "We expect our customers' demand for premium mobile games to continue to increase" he added.

With WiderThan, a provider of integrated mobile entertainment solutions for wireless carriers around the world, Amp'd Mobile has made both games available to Amp'd Mobile subscribers at a cost of $4.99 per download. Both games are now on all Amp'd handsets currently on the market, including the Amp'd Angel and Jet phones by Kyocera Wireless, as well as the Motorola E816 Hollywood Edition phone.

"We are proud to provide 'Cubetrix' and 'Zoo Keeper' to Amp'd Mobile. This agreement marks the first time in our history that WiderThan's games will be distributed to a 3G MVNO's customer base," said Gregory Graham, Director of Mobile Gaming at WiderThan. "As the mobile entertainment industry continues to expand, the interest for mobile games is rapidly increasing around the world. We look forward to working with Amp'd both now and in the future to provide their growing subscriber base with an even larger selection of high- quality mobile games to choose from."
