The auction ended after 305 rounds on July 24 - gained Fl5.9bn
from the auction, significantly short of its initial goal of Fl20bn.
Libertel, Vodafone's Dutch mobile unit gained licence A, one of
the larger broadband allocations, with a bid of Fl1.573bn ($648m).
KPN, the former Dutch national carrier, secured licence B, the other
large allocation, for Fl1.567bn. Dutchtone, which is owned by France
Telecom, Telfort, which is a subsidiary of BT, and 3G Blue, a consortium
of unlisted Ben with Deutsche Telekom won the smaller licences C,
D and E.
